Fever 1793- Laurie Halse Anderson
Hi readers, this is my first book review! Fever 1793 is about a young girl in the year 1793, named Matilda Cook, with a strict widowed mother who makes her do chores. She lives in her families business, a coffee shop with her mother and grandfather. Her cook Eliza, born a slave, worked at the coffee shop, a good friend to Mattie. A rumor of a fever along the river breaks out, and Mattie's friend, Polly dies. Matilda's mother begins to get sick. Matilda goes on an adventure, with twists and turns, leaving you on the edge of your seat, laughing, disgusted, and shedding some tears. I would gives this book a 10/10. It is very interesting, and you will not want to put the book down. Fever 1793 is a great read for young adults from the age of 12-15.
